It has been reported that Nas has been working on a new album. It is speculated to be titled The Lost Tapes 2, a follow up to his 2002 release of The Lost Tapes. It’s expected to drop sometime in 2016. The album’s existence has been confirmed by Mass Appeal creative director Sacha Jenkins and the magazine’s CEO, Peter Bittenbender a while back.
New information has been released about Nas’ new album, It has been confirmed that Rick Ross will be the executive producer for The Lost Tapes 2. The two rappers have always worked well with songs like “Triple Beam Dreams,” “Accident Murderers,” “One Of Us,” and “Usual Suspects” proving the point. In an recent interview, Ross shared his thoughts about working with Nas again as an executive producer.
“You know, Nas is so great as an MC. He’s a legend, so I wouldn’t even play with that, because of course you know Rozay will f—ing do it!”
“You know I would love to do it, but more importantly, the way Nas moves is so calculated. I feel like everything he does is perfect timing. He’s a legend, and I would love to. You know it’s whatever for the big homie.”
The latest album released by Nas was Life is Good in 2012, which was accepted well by critics and fans. With Nas’ masterful lyricsim and Ross’ ear for beats, this album may put Nas back at the forefront of a hip-hop scene that has vastly changed.
